Lara Tiranini is currently working as a gynecologist at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Unit of the IRCCS Policlinico San Matteo Foundation in Pavia. Her major interests are in the field of psychoneuroendocrinology of menstrual dysfunction occurring from adolescence to menopausal transition, with a special attention to polycystic ovary syndrome and its short and long-term health consequences. In this context, our study suggests that both maternal and paternal health and metabolic factors contribute to the development of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) in daughters, supporting a multifactorial and possibly transgenerational origin of the disorder.
